The next round of LIFE funding calls is scheduled for release on 21 April 2026. The LIFE Programme is the European Union’s key funding instrument supporting initiatives in nature conservation, environmental protection, climate action, and energy transition. Through these calls, organisations can secure funding for innovative projects that contribute to Europe’s sustainability and climate goals.
What to expect from the LIFE 2026 calls
The upcoming calls fall under the current LIFE Programme period (2021–2027) and are organised around four main thematic areas:
- Nature and biodiversity
- Circular economy and quality of life
- Climate change mitigation and adaptation
- Clean energy transition
A broad range of applicants is eligible, including businesses, non-governmental organisations, research bodies, and public sector institutions. The programme supports projects that deliver tangible impact on Europe’s environmental and climate challenges.
Important dates for 2026
