If you are an SME involved in research and development and are interested in working with international partners based in other countries, you may be eligible for Eurostars grant. This programme supports rapid development and growth by encouraging cooperation between SMEs, ultimately aiming to bring new products, services, or processes to market.
Grant budget and contribution
Multiple countries are participating within the Eurostars grant programme. Each country makes its own annual budget available for international collaborations. Funding levels per project typically range between 40% and 50%, depending on the type of organisation involved:
- SMEs: 50%
- Research institutions: 50%
- Large companies and other participants: 40%
The maximum grant per project is € 500,000.
Eurostars call 10
Eurostars call 10 is open from 16 January 2026 until 19 March 2026.
What projects are eligible for Eurostars?
To be eligible for Eurostars, your collaborative project must meet the following requirements:
- The project must be led by an innovative SME based in one of the participating countries;
- The consortium must consist of at least two independent entities;
- The participants must be based in at least two different Eurostars countries;
- At least 50% of the project budget must be borne by SMEs;
- No single participant or country may be responsible for more than 70% of the project costs;
- The total project duration must not exceed 36 months;
- The project must be exclusively focused on civil applications.
In addition to these general requirements, there may also be ‘national conditions’ that apply, depending on your country of registration.
Eurostars Countries
To be eligible for Eurostars funding, your company and your project partner must be located in one of the Eurostars countries:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, and the United Kingdom.
Eurostars countries that are not an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country: Canada, Singapore, South Africa, and South Korea.
