Strengthening Europe’s Energy industry through innovation and grants

Although the energy industry continues to see a rise in innovative advancements, it also faces a number of significant challenges. One of the most pressing concerns is climate change, and the urgent need to transition towards low-carbon energy solutions to meet international climate goals. Besides that, energy security is another critical issue in today’s geopolitical landscape. Nations are seeking to reduce reliance on a limited number of suppliers by pursuing international partnerships or enhancing domestic energy independence. Additionally, grid congestion is becoming increasingly common in many regions, affecting consumers and contributing to higher energy costs.

Although the energy industry faces several challenges, these also present opportunities for companies, organisations, and institutions to continue innovating and coorporating. Across Europe, various funding schemes are being deployed to support the research and development of new innovations, with the aim of making the energy sector more sustainable and stable. This includes new technologies for generating renewable electricity such as hydrogen, solar energy or wind power, or innovative methods of storing it to ensure reliable access to power at all times.
